MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Tuesday, 01-Mar-2016 15:29:08 UTC MMN-o ✅⃠ I'm leaving the !statusnet and !snbug and !sn groups now because I think it's time to get rid of that name. So you won't reach out to me through those groups (even though one has "& GNU Social" in its name.
I'm still of course in !gnusocial if anyone wants to ask federation/development related stuff. But StatusNet issues should be resolved by upgrading ;) -

The entire MySQL !database backup file is 444 MBytes bzipped, which contains two !SN DBs, 7 WordPress DBs, a MediaWiki DB, 1 !ownCloud DB, and an underused Drupal DB. -

Perhaps the Web UI could make the avatar image on the profile page a clickable link to the original image? !gnusocial #FeatureRequest -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Monday, 01-Jun-2015 17:04:37 UTC MMN-o ✅⃠ @if You can still use !sn to communicate with !gnusocial nodes, but there are lots of shortcomings in that ever-aging codebase. If you think you have to wrestle with GNU social, then I'd say StatusNet will require wrestling outside. In the mud. When it's raining. And a thunderstorm is heading your way. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Apr-2015 12:51:27 UTC MMN-o ✅⃠ @lnxw48 I have to protest this statement. As a developer of !gnusocial I _do_ see it as a problem that conversations are split and I don't think anyone disagrees. It would be best if there was a mechanism for "missing notices" to appear in your timeline. !OStatus technically supports this. I still can't say anything else than "yes, we want our implementation to handle this better".
But we are still very few, only free-time developers. There are many other issues to fix, and lots of !SN legacy code which breaks when touched.
Often claimed solutions are:
* Spam-distribution is unacceptable.
* Auto-fetching. Must be analyzed for issues relating to privacy (how/when is it fetched?) and performance (DDoS possibilities etc.). I for one don't want to implement something that gets easily abused.
* Distributed storage might solve the problem of "missing notices", but it causes several new issues which are even worse. I can extrapolate if desired, but I don't want to rant too much. -

You've migrated from http to https right? I've got a of you with http that collides when doublechecking the identity of the one who made the salmon magic signature (which is your https identity). When I then try to save the new profile I found - it collides on the 'feedsub' table I guess for the 'uri' key.
It also ends up creating a bunch of entries in the profile table.
I know where to look and I think I know what I should do. It's still the "http->https" migration problem and it won't be fixed for older !sn installs - but it will be fixed for those who have upgraded to !gnusocial. -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkan@fediverse.com)'s status on Sunday, 08-Feb-2015 22:56:55 UTC Erkan Yılmaz tbh, at this point, I'd have any hierarchichal threading, than none. I had it running here in !gs but I had some side effects (1) :-( So, the only way to get it currently is to view conversations on my old !sn oracle. (1) https://fediverse.com/conversation/485663 -

Thanks for your patience. Let's hope you don't find the "if user==chimo randomError();" statement that was added as a significant change when going from !sn to !gnusocial (re: http://s.morphtown.de/attachment )/13647 -
