    I installed the !ownCloud Polls plugin on my instance; pretty slick! But I need something that has open, public polls.

    Agreed, up to the point of "there is no need for your own cloud". My !ownCloud / !Nextcloud *is* my own !selfhost.ed computer, and it provides the means for me to access my data on different devices which may not be connected to each other, or at all.

    I did not know that !ownCloud uses file-based encryption. I would like to see external storage as a single LUKS blob with its own internal filesystem.
