    I still think we should have to talk on Tuesday so that @lnxw48 can put in his two cents as the new !osp lead. If Jeff comes, he now has a better idea about what we are thinking about. If Josiah cancels again, no point in having meeting, I don't think.

    @lnxw48 after mostly tossing and turning on the clusterfuck that was yesterday's attempt at a !fcm meeting, I have decided to take myself completely out of the !osp discussion. You tell me what you want to do, and if I can easily help (transfer the domain name, give you some access to the FCM site, etc.), I will do it. Of course, what to do with the FCM site is a matter to be addressed at some point as well. I'm pretty close to just dropping the idea. Too many people involved are in transitional states and/or don't really support free culture (they aren't in the fediverse for example, which makes having conversations about the org really difficult). I thought a similar-style music org might work, but I met lots of resistance when I started that idea a little over two years ago, and had the same problem that twitter is the only place to find everyone. You can't build an org in 140 char. Tom won't use IRC. Ryno won't use facebook. It's just a PIT…

    well, at the very least, private groups give a feature that you can't really get with tags. That said, I've only over used private groups as a test to see that they actually work.

    I think groups are also useful for organizations, but my life wouldn't significantly change if !NEF or !OSP went to following those as tags. Having the group means there aren't duplicates, at least on a single instance. Over on twitter, RynoTheBearded ends up in the Occupy Oakland stream all the time because he has a show called "OO". He's based in Tupelo, MS, and I wish he'd get the idea that freedom is more than just !CCMusic.

    @lnxw48 I figured out the AWS thing. There was literally no way to fix it from within Linux. I had to change the security groups. I guess to that end there's no huge reason to turn off the things I mentioned via email, although they are now open. I'm not sure if this should be tagged as !osp or !nef since I have no real plan, but I might as well get both groups talking about what we might do...

    Wendy thinks !NEF or some part of it should move from non-profit to for-profit. I don't see how one runs a media site without ads and without crowdfunding. Crowdfunding could work but the things I have tried in the past have been dismal failures. I don't see how we get investors and stick to CC. Thoughts?
