@hugh Many, many, acronyms. For the curious (which might not be you):
SPF (Sender Protection Framework) = proving that a domain you own sent the message.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) = proving that this is the message that your mail server generated.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) = a guide for receivers on how much to trust SPF and DKIM.
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) = pretty icons for passing a DMARC test.
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) = pictures without jaggies.
DNS (Domain Name System) = where it will break.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Friday, 24-Jun-2022 00:30:48 UTC Deborah Pickett Turned on BIMI icons for $dayjob email! (BIMI builds on top of DMARC and shows users an icon if the mail is verified as coming from this sender.)

Make your icon as an SVG and put it on a web server. Then point to it with a BIMI record in your DNS.)

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Jun-2022 00:19:25 UTC Deborah Pickett A new NBN technician has been sent. Again he had to phone me for directions because he is only given the address of the industrial estate, which has ten factories on it.
It is a second visit by a technician but this one has not been informed of any of the history of the incident so he is starting from square one.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Jun-2022 00:19:24 UTC Deborah Pickett A new new NBN technician has been sent. This one also had to phone me for directions. He has declared that there is no carrier signal at the entry point to the property, which we already knew from the first two technicians. We still do not have Internet.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Jun-2022 00:19:23 UTC Deborah Pickett NBNCo sent the same technician who came on Tuesday. On the bright side, this meant they didn’t have to phone me for directions. But of course he couldn’t fix it any more than he could(n’t) earlier in the week. So we still do not have Internet.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Jun-2022 00:19:21 UTC Deborah Pickett NBNCo sent the same technician again this morning. He’s called Vu and I am going to have to put him on my Christmas card list now because we are developing a close friendship. Vu tells me that the coaxial cable is in top shape and the issue is definitely in the upstream fibre. We still do not have Internet.

To my (one good) ear they are all just square wave bass beats.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Friday, 10-Jun-2022 05:03:16 UTC Deborah Pickett The correct answer is: in the Library where you books are listed, there’s a context menu, from which “Return book” is an option. [Reportedly. I am not a user of the service and I am trying to find this out for my Mum, who is.]
Or, if you try and check out an eleventh book, you are prompted with a list of the ten books you currently have, and you can return one right there and then.

Deborah Pickett (futzle@aus.social)'s status on Friday, 10-Jun-2022 05:03:07 UTC Deborah Pickett Amazon has made the UX for returning books that you have borrowed through Kindle Unlimited so opaque that the top several pages of search results for “how to return a Kindle Unlimited book” are for ebooks called How To Return a Kindle Unlimited Book. This is SEO hell.
