@hankg The first time I had doubt in Musk was when he met with Trump during his presidency. Before this I had the feeling as if he was a really nice and great guy. And then I began digging deeper. And it really adds up.
@amatecha@rysiek@hankg@thgie@Tattooed_mummy I think that you are right with all the attributes you mentioned. That's what I wanted to say. Also I have got the feeling as if it's getting worse with him.
@rysiek For everyone who want to have a deep dive into Elon Musk's way of thinking and his personality and has got 30 minutes time, I recommend the latest video from Tim Dodd who had been invited to the "Star Base" in Boca Chica by Elon Musk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP5k3ZzPf_0
One can really see that he definitely is a weird person. I don't want to excuse him, but seeing him in action does help to understand, why he acts so weird.
@hypolite@z428@csepp@cketti Friendica is a good example. It has been created by Mike Macgirvin. But several years ago he decided to leave the project for a new one. But other people took over. Same happened with Statusnet that developed into GNU Social. Also none of the original Diaspora developers are still active. Several years ago the community took over.
With commercial systems you can't take over a project when there is the danger that it will shut down. With open source projects you can take over the project.
@hypolite@z428@csepp@cketti Well, I think that everyone is replaceable. I saw it in our company. Over the last years we often had situations where coworkers left and we thought: "Now we are doomed! No one know that product, the customers will kill us!". Until now this hadn't happen.
Concerning the reward: recently I received several kilograms of chocolate from a user. So that's fine 😀
@Mastodon@dansup I just stumbled across this thread again. Question is, how the groups will be implemented. This is especially important since there are already existing group functionalities. For example Friendica, Lemmy, Guppe and wxwClub are already doing the same and are compatible to each other.
I have to have a deeper look at the message flow. And I have to check if it will be possible to implement it for both the ActivityPub and the Diaspora protocol.
@hypolite@wmd@rysiek Well, it would be kind of unpractical to have a date shift in the middle of the day. So some "your package will arrive on Friday" could then mean some period between early evening and late morning, for example. That's disturbing.
@hypolite@wmd@rysiek Well, having a weekday change in the middle of the day sounds quite confusing, doesn't it? People think in weekdays. When make an appointment you will most likely say: "On Wednesday I will be in your town, can we met?". But which Wednesday will this be when the day switch was around lunch time for example?
