@musicman Well, there's #social (GS, bridged to XMPP MUC and Freenode), but it is probably best to ask projects that interest you where their support chat takes place.
@lxoliva I can't imagine it is a system clock issue if the Diaspora and GS instances are running on the same system. If there are others seeing the same issue with FSF's GS instance, maybe their admins should seek troubleshooting assistance in #social on Freenode.
I invite ALL federation developers to hop into #social on irc.w3.org for conversations around the social Web. It's where a few discussions on #ActivityPub discussions occur.
I know that we have http://socialhub.network/ for this as well and I encourage the devs to use these places in conjunction to this one for conversations for historical and open discussion reasons.
Anyone can participate remotely! We will be chatting in #social on irc.w3.org
But you can also come in person if you can make it to Vlissingen! There is still plenty of space, and it will be in this cool tower: https://www.watertorenvlissingen.com/
@gargron As a GS user who has masto-friends, I wouldn't say that either is better, but rather that they serve different niches. Masto is better on the privacy aspect but it's shed useful features *cough*groups*cough* to get there (Or at least I ever see any masto-friends using groups). Just because I'm working on #up doesn't mean that I think it's inherently superior to #social or to #mastodon, but rather that I think it fills a different niche.
@witti könnte mit Queuedaemons zusammenhängen. Am besten mal auf English die Gruppe \!gnusocial fragen, oder IRC/freenode → #social

MMN-o ✅⃠Interesting communication on the #social IRC channel. Not sure where this came from or why or if it's just a prank or what: 1759 < daynaskully> ok so i have a mastodon instance up and added 250,000 fake users. Should i add it to the instance list to help inflate adoption numbers or what? 1759 < daynaskully> woops wrong window
A rather positive article in the Rolling Stone about the blockchain-based social media platform Steemit, but it fails to mention the developments in the recent months. The value of the platform has tanked considerably, with the bottom hardly in sight. The system was "hard-forked" (to use the fancy-term in blockchain-speak, but developers still have sufficient control of the system, i.e. it's not as decentralized as it theoretically could and should be), in order to reduce its built-in dilution or "inflation", hence there are now, not only because of the dropped value, less spectacular payouts for users' posts, in the hope to attract again speculators and investors. There is still a lot of potential because of synergistic effects to expect from future features, though on the other hand there are also other platforms in the making.
