1. Because 70 years old leader has been since 1999 making exactly the same promise of “making Russia one the five largest economies of the world” while its been humbly occupying the same position of economy comparable to Italy. And he desperately needs some success, while independent Ukraine is a stunning example of how a country can prosper when not entirely controlled by kleptocracy composed of security services and oligarchs.
2. It depends. The reason for the high pitch tone is general tendency in media because hysterical emotions and fear sell better. One reason voiced for the periodic leaks on “intelligence attack dates” is that this way US is forcing Russia to to something rather than endlessly keeping 100k troops on Ukraine’s border, which is highly destructive on its own.

And it should be remembered that all of the Eastern European new joiners into NATO were motivated for their applications by threatening actions of Russia itself.

OK, so after a bit of reading it seems like the “proper” way of doing #devops using Ansible is:

• use regular ansible-playbook push from management workstation to deploy any required secrets and anything else that needs ansible-vault
• anything else that works without ansible-vault can be done using ansible-pull

This seems quite feasible and I’m going to try it next.

Oh, and here’s one more recent video from #Russia state TV where they go into detail on how they are going to invade Gotland, and then Baltic states, Poland etc.

But hey, it’s Russia that feels threatened because, as one ARD journalist recently explained, Sweden dared to place tanks on their fucking own territory of Gotland!

Ukrainians are going through a civil war, baked and backed by foreign countries.

All armed forces present in Donbass and Crimea belong to just one country - Russia. There are no “foreign countries” there, just one.

It’s very kind of you to give away someone else’s territory to please an autocrat. You’re from US? How about making a concession and making Miami a “neutral, buffer region”?
