   Ukraine is one of the last states in eastern Europe not a member of NATO or the EU

   And it should be remembered that all of the Eastern European new joiners into NATO were motivated for their applications by threatening actions of Russia itself.

     @kravietz @csddumi @Sbarry8520 and lately als Scandinavian countries consider to join NATO.
     
     Also one interesting thing is that Russia and Western countries agreed that Ukraine will be left untouched by Russia in exchange for it nuclear weapons (that was 20 years or so ago), Russia broke that contract with Crimea already.
