I don't think Maurice Siné was ever charged with a crime. But yeah, clearly people in Europe are more sensitive to anti-semitic than anti-islamic jokes/comments. -
sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Monday, 12-Jan-2015 21:02:00 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @hosh Yeah, AFAIK most European countries have various restrictions to freedom of speech. Here in Finland we even have a blasphemy law still on the books. But what is hate speech? It isn't so easy to define in some cases. -
sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Monday, 12-Jan-2015 20:48:09 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @hosh I'm pretty sure Charlie Hebdo didn't poke fun at the Holocaust, though. They even fired a cartoonist for relatively mild comments that may be interpreted as anti-semitic: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/aug/03/france.pressandpublishing -

sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Saturday, 10-Jan-2015 12:40:07 UTC sazius on Mayfirst I'd really like to understand why switching tabs becomes slow in Pumpa after a while. It's not related to any memory leaks, since the GNU social client based on much the same code (yaics) seems to be eating even more memory, but tabs switching is still fast.… http://ur1.ca/je0yh -
