Have you read https://indieweb.org/monoculture ? According to that article, systems like #hubzilla, #gnusocial, #diaspora might classify as monocultures that fail to interoperate with other systems, and force everybody to run the same software on their servers. Thoughts on this?
PS: I am aware that gnusocial does have a level of interoperability with other similar projects. But, I have no idea about diaspora and hubzilla.
The #emacs package on !guix SD is built without m17n, and so my Tamil (Indic) text was not rendering properly. So, I rebuilt emacs with m17n to fix the issue.
I don't really know how m17n, i18n and l10n are different. To me, their meanings all seem to overlap. I don't know if there is a rigorous difference between them.
I just heard of the #PinjraTod (break the cage) movement -- https://social.systemreboot.net/url/20223 We need a lot more of these to overthrow the draconian rules imposed by many colleges (especially private colleges) in !india.
!cli #crontab Apparently, all data after the first % will be sent to the command as standard input. That is the purpose of this weird behaviour, it seems.
But, I am looking for offline use without accessing their API. If their algorithm is published, somebody could write a standalone free software replacement. Using their API is #SaaSS.
But, from what I've read, their algorithm appears to be proprietary. :-(
