well, Alameda isn't Los Angeles. I have never been to LA, but I have heard it is a crap #cycling city. Minneapolis, on the other hand, is often rated in the top 2, if not #1, in cycling.
It can be absolutely bonkers cold here occassionally, but that doesn't stop us from cycling. Just put on another layer. :)
For a centrist democrat, I do like Kamala Harris' work since she became a congressperson. I'm further left than that so not my #1 choice but she's done the "centrist democrat" job pretty well as far as that position goes.
If Kamala could reverse time and select "defense lawyer" rather than "prosecutor" I think she'd be a 100% shoo-in for the centrist democrat side of the democratic primary. In the meanwhile I guess that'll be an uphill battle.
@iona HK is worth visiting for several reasons. #1 is food, #2 is just walking around in the world's overwhelmingly scyscraper-densest place and going up in some of them for the view, and then there are some stark contrasts between the ancient and the hypermodern to enjoy.
For the cyberpunk experience, you can get some of it by just going to obscure warehouses and meet small businesses, and you can get some of it by going to the electronic markets in Sham Shui Po. But the real deal is Shenzhen. They have like 200+ makerspaces and markets where you can buy every component imaginable.
While staying in Hong Kong, one can make visa-less day trips to Shenzhen.
All (old enough) Swedes know this, you may or may not know it: Björn Skifs who is here playing The Arbiter was also the guy who made it to #1 in the US with his (band's) version of Hooked on a Feeling (ooga-chaka ooga ooga ooga-chaka) back in 1974, which was also made somewhat famous again in 2014 with Guardians of the Galaxy.
@maiyannah Yeah, I think it's because it's not in beta yet, once it hits beta it'll probably show up on my end. Thanks for letting me know though, that really made my day! I've been waiting for this for a long time. Looking foward to play my #1 game on linux, it's the only game that has made me keep a HDD with windows on it.
@futt I understand what you say, and I do not disagree with you on it. But to me it's just crazy that it can go that far, when they are tied directly to the #1 wanted guy, and then just walk in there like that. It's crazy.
If there was one place that should've been more secure against this exact thing it's there.
@futt Well, they where closely tied to the #1 wanted terrorist after the paris attacks, so how could they miss that until they blasted all those people to death?
