Cops are breaking down the door to Dr. Bancroft’s house. One of them starts shaking the litterbox back and forth while repeatedly wailing "heeeeeeeere kitty kitty."

"Cat’s gone," he states, based on the litterbox containing no cat shit, "And she’s probably gone along with it."

Cat scratches the doctor, who drips some blood on the floor, making Morby completely horny for platelets.

There’s a lot of low talking and moody shots. They talk on the roof, absolutely no chemistry whatsoever between them.

"How does it feel," she asks, pausing dramatically, "when you’re on red?"

That’s not a thing. Who wrote this?

Which means of course they kiss.

These murder police have found some CCTV footage of Lucien using his superpowers. The footage includes the weird batsmoke, so I guess that means in the film, it’s real. It’s not just an effect for the audience.

The detectives opine: "That’s not the Doctor." ah haw haw, since they’re looking at Matt Smith, who played The Doctor.

"It’s what these bloodsuckers do. They multiply."

I upgraded Zoom, and the new version has broken X Window class names. The class identifies the X client, and is related (but different) to the title.

The class was always kind of weird, it consistently started with "zoom," but had text appended. But now it's always "join?pwd=&action=join&confno=" — but with reall meeting IDs and passwords(!!) in it.

This one is pretty esoteric, but I use the window class name to do some custom window title handling based on which client it is. And since Zoom's class name is now ludicrous, that breaks.

PagerDuty on Android uses the same notification to let you know that the schedule was updated as it uses to let you know that production is on fire.

@cstanhope Definitely not the talk. Found two stale blogs from him, but neither was the one and the more recent of the two still hadn't been updated since 2016.

I read a gripe about poor software quality a while back (which I wish I could find again) where someone logged every new bug they encountered in a week. Reading it, I both thought "wow, that's a lot" and also "wow, that's very relatable."

But I keep thinking about it every time I run into some buggy software or broken experience. So I think I'm going to keep a running log of some of this stuff, until I get tired of it.

@ifixcoinops Are you going to put plex over it? I know that was more common on 90s conversions to cover up all the extra holes in the control panel, but I think it was factory for these big Konami machines. Definitely was on Turtles and Simpsons, I’d assume the other 4p dedicated cabs as well.

Looks really nice, great job getting that on. Replacing CPOs is about my least favorite thing, I just don’t bother anymore unless it’s completely thrashed or wrong (like that one was).
