i think we should have our IT just preinstall it in Chrome, because, like How Do You Live Like that!?!

Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Thursday, 17-Feb-2022 11:43:55 UTC Mina @bgcarlisle what i find weird, is when somebody says: "I'm giving you back these last fifteen minutes"
which in and of itself is a weird phrase.
but then they keep talking for another ten minutes!

Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Wednesday, 02-Feb-2022 15:27:56 UTC Mina @stsp having looked at linguistics, and at computer science vs computer programming languages and their libraries, i am not convinced words have any meaning
but why the heck is git one the one everyone standardized on?
(i know why, or rather, i have my theory why:
everyone wanted to be as cool as Linus.
now everyone is as much a butt as Linus. /s) -
Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Wednesday, 02-Feb-2022 15:27:55 UTC Mina @stsp but seriously tho: Hash, associative array, map, table, Hash-map, or the all containing PHP array and Lisp list.
which one is it?
what are the performance characteristics?it cannot be known
not from the name, anyway… -
Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Wednesday, 02-Feb-2022 15:27:53 UTC Mina @stsp no, but it's still really confusing when you jump from one such domain to another
(multiple times on a daily basis, like some people in the DevOps space do ;)

Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Wednesday, 02-Feb-2022 15:25:32 UTC Mina I think i'd have an easier time using whatever VCS people already know, than trying to stuff "teaching git" into teaching a work-shop.
like, I already know (have used) cvs, svn (and svk!), mercurial, fossil, darcs, bazaar, and git (and git svn!).
i might have even used RCS at one company…and I'd even have an easier time teaching most of those, compared to teaching git, which i have extensive knowledge of.

five minutes of work, and your cookie consent looks much shorter
