I drream a native #gnome framework made with a browser copied form the #smalltalk browser
For browsing files hierarches
But also email folders
toots (the articulation of categories in ths case could be invented)
forums
trees of todo tasks
git trees
databases
whatever
things could be represented logically with vocabularies and triples and managed by a system wide service
And then the same browser could allow you to browse anything
NeXT is an extremely interesting oroject but I'm not sure I understand what it's all about
Is it a library ?
How is it distinct from Etoile ?
And then there's the ObjC mess
I don't know, I don't get it
Also: is their class browser still based on the Miller Columns ?
I've been using Fedora for a few years
Then I moved to Ubuntu but not because I didin't like Fedora
I did
Now I'd LOVE someone to explain to me what Silverblue exaclty is
does this have an effect on the experience/process of developing services for GuixSD of for Guix Home ?

?
you have no encryption in groups anyway, as far as I understand
I see several web sites for using #telegram without installing an app from the store (any store)
How are they different ?
Why should I choose one or another ?
I installed Emacs with Guix and it's not in my Gnome desktop
How do I get that ?
sorry for being unclear
I installed Guix the package manager on top of Ubuntu 21.10
Thank you for this link, I'll take a look !
It seems @aral was right

Thanks to the both of you !!
I partecipated in that thread
Guole does NOT require you to use the autotools but in an extremely narrow use case
You can do wonders without touching the autotools
my hypothesis
on the work laptop Firefox comes from Snap
On my personal laptop Firefox comes from Flatpak
Flatpak apps are weird about accessing the filesystem
Now I tried agan on the same machine where it didn't work this morning
It still doesn't work
It works on my work laptop, it doesn't work on my personal one
it's to be said that I made the working try on a different machine, go figure
I should try on the original machine to be sure
anyway, thanks !!
What about the capital K ?
look I tried with the command line found here, and it seems it worked
https://www.eff.org/keeping-your-site-alive/mirroring-your-site
can you figure out what these switches do ?
I can't
