@kevie Good morning et #tzag, my friend. May your tea be hot and your blessings plentiful for what promises to be a beautiful day (weatherwise, at least!)
Out shopping with @Moosical - we usually make jokes about not needing a bag because we have each other (Caroline referring to me as a bag, for example)
Today, we're in Sports Direct... Caroline is asked if she needs a bag, and says no... referring to me as her "pack horse".
@zerozx This is analogous to Gecko Vs Blink. Only Firefox uses Gecko (Cura), but most other browsers use Blink (Slic3r derivatives). All Blink-based browsers have their own discrete features, and Firefox will never adopt Blink π
Bottom line is that the maintainers of each of these pieces of software believe they have the best version/variant... I think you'd struggle to get them to align.
@dbattistella You've just taught me the word "pogrom" - thank you. Now I have a name for what's happening about 7mi/10km from my doorstep (Rotherham, UK)
@SolusSpider "Not all of it is toxic, at least for me."
Completely agree, this is why I haven't deleted the accounts - and probably won't, either. We have a fairly large family gathering in a private Facebook group, so I don't want to lose that... as just one example.
I will continue to use these services (well, probably not Threads), but on _my_ terms.
Plus, my accounts hold my identity... I don't want someone else to yoink my usernames π
Last night I took the decision to remove the Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, and Threads apps from my phone and tablet.
This is the first of a few steps to rid myself of the toxicity of social media.
Next step will be to pare down groups, pages, and individuals that I follow to just those I want to be a part of.
Social media can be a nasty place, and over the last few weeks, Facebook - specifically - has been an unhealthy place for me... and I don't want that any more.
