@clacke This could get confusing. I've never heard of Pete Davidson, but Peter Davidson was the Fifth Doctor.

Sky has turned grey. Cat's come in. I think the storm is about to hit.

@ghostdancer @clacke You can follow the film without having seen the series, especially once it gets going, but assuming that everyone in the audience has seen everything is a step in a slightly worrying direction.

@ghostdancer @clacke Indeed. Disney is a company and films are a product. But I do think that they need to be careful not to kill the franchise by assuming too much commitment from their audience.

@clacke We saw this #film on Friday. It was good -- and a lot darker than previous Marvel movies -- but I can't help feeling that I missed a lot of context from not having Disney+.

@ghostdancer @clacke I'm aware that WandaVision is a thing, but I've never seen it. It's not a huge issue, but there were a few moments early on when I found myself wandering what the characters were talking about.

@clacke They're not that far in the background, but those scenes were quite a revelation for me. I know know practically nothing about Hong Kong's history, and this was something I'd never even heard of.

The film is well worth seeing.

@clacke Of course, I should have realised. I have to admit, though, that Rage Against the Machine is not a band I've really listened to.

@clacke Unless I'm very much mistaken, you can't be talking about the John Woo film. Or can you?
