Well.... that was a small adventure.... I use and adore the software KVM program #Barrier, which was an open-source fork of Synergy. In my setup the System76 #PCLinuxOS KDE desktop runs the server and the Razer 15 #Solus Budgie laptop is the client. Solus informed me of a software update. 113 updates, including kernel, later I rebooted the laptop. Then the fun began.... Barrier did not autostart. In fact it was no longer installed. When I looked for it in the repo Barrier was not there? [1/3]
From https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap : "Q: Input Leap vs. barrier? A: Input Leap is a fork of barrier, by barrier's active maintainers. See issue #1414 for more details. Currently, barrier is considered unmaintained." #Barrier#inputleap Well, there you go... the fork stabbed me! [3/3]
@ken_fallon thanks mate. It was more of a surprise than anything, especially with #Solus swapping over the software. Least they are on the ball. Unsure when #PCLinuxOS will have Input-Leap available.
@perloid I plan to visit @archer72 again tomorrow, Sunday, afternoon, once he has moved to the Cardinal Hill Rehab Facility today. I just happen to be the online contact in the area.
@perloid - @archer72 lives 30 miles away from me, and we have been talking casually on Mastodon for about a year. At the time I put a call out for anyone living in the Bluegrass area of Kentucky, and Mark responded. Unfortunately it took his car accident and hospital stay to get us together in-person.
@perloid Yeah, tell me about it mate. I work a full-time job at the Food Bank, active in our local church, married, look after my Dragon-in-Law at home, keep up with podcasts such as @tuxjam & @thebugcast with their respective communities, volunteer for MissionAssist, and now Ken & Mark want me to make #HPR episodes.
Friday 06:41. 1 more workday before the weekend! I have my much needed #Coffee. That's 2 days in a row I have woke up with my CPAP mask off. It does make a major difference. Yesterday was a busy day at the #FoodBank, full of fun & learning. Fun in teaching a workmate some of the basics of Jet Reporting. Learning in being invited to be part of a high level planning committee. Never been that high before, & felt like I was gasping for air. Happy Birthday to @thelovebug Be well y'all, Peter //O\\
