    @clacke Unlike some of the commenters in the original thread, I don't believe it would have made the movie that different. Human brains still interface with the Matrix in the "human battery" version, and it keeps the passive/active in society duality intact which is one of the core pillar of the movie, not the Matrix implementation details.

    @clacke @WillRobinson My school organizes a crowdfunding campaign every year where parents are suggested a donation for supplies for one kid, and encouraged to give more for families having difficulty affording it.

    It ends up being cheaper for everybody because they can order wholesale, and the cost is spread on more people.

    @clacke Interesting, my parents had to also buy the paper I was writing or drawing on and the organizers to fit it in by subject. I can understand how foreign my current situation sounds to you, then, when it actually feels like an improvement to me.
