I haven't checked how this works with !qvitter but I assume its autocomplete only gives you the short nickname. So if someone could patch that interface I think it'd be superawesome.
@gargron You should do it like us in !GNUsocial and !qvitter and just fuck the poooo...liticans' insane legalese law making. Don't let morons put boundaries on your creativity and effectiveness.
!gnusocial seems to ignore php.ini settings on file uploads. I have set the post_max_size to 20M and upload_max_filesize to 15M. But both !Qvitter and GS keep telling me about a 5000000 bytes. Anyone got a hint how to fix that? @mmn eventually? https://gnusocial.de/attachment/4126522
@zash Are you using !qvitter? I don't have any problems with the classic interface. Feel free to debug the javascript! *hands over various torture equipment*
Hey, !fediverse I'm trying to get this instance up and running, which it was for a minute, but now I'm stumped. Trying to figure out why I can't subscribe to remote groups anymore after upgrading !qvitter last week. Issue detailed here https://0eq2.com/qm #help !
@cathal I (hundur) don't endorse proprietary disservices. Also becoming reliant on donations means people can start having unreasonable demands "or they won't continue support". Better not to involve economics at all.
Financial support can be given via !cryptocurrency or to others who deserve it (like @hannes2peer with the organisation En Kompis Kompis developing the !qvitter interface).
@hannes2peer 1. It only works in !qvitter and not the vanilla interface 2. thus it also won't work for third party API clients (at least not unless they do whatever qvitter does manually).
I can see a point in a point having "home timeline feed hides replies to people I don't follow" or something, which would determine which posts go on the home timeline feed. Some could call it "Twitter behaviour mode".
I have no issues with implementing this as an optional feature! There is no reason not to. And I'd merge if someone wrote the code (or it'll probably take a while before I find the time).
@igor Thanks, but it's not like I'm in any need of money. What I need is time, and to get time I'd have to quit my job and I don't think I would get that much money from donations .) Instead you could donate to http://enkompiskompis.se/en/donations/ instead, since their development of !qvitter is good!
@Gargron A <noscript> would be superduper! !qvitter informs non-javascripters. For inspiration on the "enable message", try this site without arbitrary remote code execution in the browser enabled: http://openingh.openstreetmap.de/
Spoiler, the message is: »You don‘t have JavaScript enabled and that is a good thing but this tool makes heavy use of JavaScript so you need to enable it in order to use this tool. If you don’t trust the code that is going to be executed that is good as well. I encourage you to read all the source code on Github. Also note that every commit and all releases are GPG signed. You might want to check this out as well :) Stay safe.»
@aw As you can see, https://gnusocial.no runs without Qvitter. Also I have an ugly hack on https://quitter.is for example that presents the non-js version before assuming the client supports javascript.
But as a workaround for !qvitter sites: You can use the /main/login endpoint on any !qvitter site to log in. Then you (manually in the address bar) go to /settings/qvitter and disable it if it was active.
@frankiesaxx Any minute now you'll start OStatus subscribing to communists and anarchists and even extremists like !GNUsocial or even !qvitter developers.
You can upload videos here! Maybe not through the !qvitter interface though? Either way you could upload the video elsewhere, to some random file storage, and link it. It's the web you know. Links are royal.
But try switching to the "classic" interface too if you want to upload. No automatic conversion though.
