@mmn Well, as I’m not currently on git, I’ll be creating a new folder for !GNUSocial and upgrading into it. So I’m going to go straight from 1.1.0 and blame you if it goes wrong… that’s ok, I presume? :-)

Uh, from where can I get StatusNet 1.1.1? Apparently thats the baseline to upgrade to !GNUSocial and I’m on StatusNet 1.1.0!
-
@thelovebug My guess is it works just fine to upgrade from 1.1.0 as well! I think the last .1 was just minor fixes to export to pump.io format
-
@thelovebug I guess you could also clone the git repo and then 'git reset 2a70ed27e71e2e6e88359c88229d9c9ac5bb91a0', which is SN 1.1.1, do the upgrade to SN 1.1.1 and then checkout the latest master of !GNUsocial
-
@mmn from the gnu.io repo? ‘git reset’ is a backpedal, right?
-
@takeshitakenji He wants to upgrade to #GNUsocial but we (officially) only support upgrades from 1.1.1, and he runs 1.1.0 :) So I suggested @thelovebug git pull https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social.git -> travel back in time (with 'reset' or whatever) to when 1.1.1 was released -> upgrades -> returns to the present -> upgrades according to readme.

@thelovebug When all else fails, blame the IT guy ;-) /cc @mmn

@thelovebug Sounds great! No backups either, just go full throttle and never look back!
-
@expatpaul Whilst that sounds like a good plan, it has just occurred to me that if this doesn’t work I won’t be able to reach the IT guy! /cc @mmn

@thelovebug Better add me on xmpp:mmn@hethane.se then!
