@cr1901 I still need to port a tiny change to the screen otherwise some of the example files will looks weird, but you could try this version I made for Turbo C.

@cr1901 It takes 40 seconds to assemble asma, if you use the drifblim rom, and assemble the drifblim tal file. How long does it take?

I seriously hate that the default #uxn rom is a launcher, a way that only lets you launch pre-made programs.

I found this excellent comment the other day that explains this better than I could:

Wow, uxn is getting its face kicked in all over the hackernews and lobsters these days.

@eris It's a bit shitty because they don't understand the project, and I can't explain it in a way that they can relate.

They're finding that it's all very hand wavey, I'm not sure how to beat it into them that there's a vast chasm between a C compiler and uxn's assembler.

It sucks that people look at something and instead of seeing what it could do, they instantly look for things they can't do. "Oh well, you can't do AI with 64kb, so it's useless"

@chaosmonk @eris That's a lovely way of looking at this, you're right.

@akkartik If you're asking yourself if something is procrastination or learning, it's easy to ask yourself if you had been able to do this a week, a month ago.

But also, it's irrelevant.

It's relevant if you're trying to turn your weird play-computing into a business, or to save the world. But, if it makes you happy and not hurting anyone, I'd start digging to see if there isn't some other pressure telling you to not keep going.

You're allowed to dig into something if it makes you happy.

@akkartik I've seen you struggling through this for a while now, and it got me to do my own thinking a bit. And I ended up at either of 2 places:

- You're afflicted by the hand-eye dilemma, this usually goes away with time(and work). It's when your technical skills and your capability of knowing how things ought to be mismatch.
- Your goals don't match your approach. By that I mean that you're trying to solve systemic computing problems with individual solution. That tends to lead to burnout.
