@jollyrogue I'm not sure... Mentally I've been calling it โthird wave FLOSSโ (1st = RMS & FSF founding (mid 80s), 2nd = OSI & โopen sourceโ (late 90s on)).

Wasn't there talk of putting this โyou must distribute even if over a networkโ AGPL thing into what would become the GPLv3? Obv that was not included in v3, hence why AGPL was created. It's a shame they didn't do that (maybe GPLv4 ๐ค), and instead put something against โTivo-izationโ which in retrospect was almost pointless...

@ralph @alcinnz you could make it a co-operative. Then it's a legal entity which can do commercial stuff without being controlled by shareholders

@starbreaker @dredmorbius the fella behind the bookmarking site Pinboard has been saying this too. Treat personal data like radioactive waste, not an asset. Don't hoard it, store it safely etc.
He's done a few talks and blogged on idlewords.com
