True, but they tend not to be directly linked to “inflation indexes” but rather financial instruments that are trailing indicators of inflation. Although in today’s environment you would be crazy to get an ARM

@zoowar actually, moderate inflation only hurts those with parked money as it devalues it. Moderate inflation raises workers pay while eroding their debt. “Secrets of the Temple” is the best in depth analysis of inflation vs middle/lower class. But you can be sure it wouldn’t get to that. A credible threat of 5% inflation from a central bank would have money flowing into the productive economy, to avoid it literally eroding away in the Caymans et al.

@mcnalu I like an idea that was floated to raise inflation to 5% unless the money parked in offshore tax havens was brought back into the economy.
