   @mmn I agree with all that, but still feel there might be room for a semi-private space. At least to me, handling several pseudonym identities would be pretty exhausting. On the other hand, knowing that your every word can be read by everyone in the world is a bit scary. It's like the idea of Panopticon, and how we start policing ourselves and be less daring and creative if we feel constantly watched and judged.
   
   On the other hand a semi-private space might just be a dangerous illusion in today's world, something we expect from our experience of the offline world, which doesn't really exist online. So we make assumptions which doesn't really hold anymore.

     @sazius RedMatrix actually allows you to private communication with individuals and groups of people. Posts, photos, galleries, even files & folders.

     @encycl I'm not very familiar with RedMatrix, but knowing Mike, I'm pretty sure that's more or less as secure as OTR or GnuPG'd email. So it belongs to my fourth category :-)
