    Brandon (bthall) was impressed that I'd taken 500K steps in October, but as I explained to him ... the weather was right, the timing was right (plenty of time in the early evening before it got dark) and my schedule here at home was right. As far as I know, this is the only time that has ever happened, and it could easily be the only time it ever does.

    @heluecht They missed one. In 1972, Vice President Spiro Agnew had been accused of corruption from his time in state and local government. ( See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiro_Agnew )

    Nixon chose to keep Agnew as his tunning mate, saying "you don't change horses in the middle of a stream". They repeated that a bit.

      Spiro Theodore Agnew (November 9, 1918 – September 17, 1996) was the 39th vice president of the United States, serving from 1969 until his resignation in 1973. He is the second of two vice presidents to resign the position, the first being John C. Calhoun in 1832. Agnew was born in Baltimore to a Greek immigrant father and an American mother. He attended Johns Hopkins University and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He worked as an aide to U.S. Representative James Devereux before he was appointed to the Baltimore County Board of Zoning Appeals in 1957. In 1962, he was elected Baltimore County Executive. In 1966, Agnew was elected Governor of Maryland, defeating his Democratic opponent George P. Mahoney and independent candidate Hyman A. Pressman. At the 1968 Republican National Convention, Richard Nixon asked Agnew to place his name in nomination, and named him as running mate. Agnew's centrist reputation interested Nixon; the law and order stance he had taken in the wake of civil unrest that year appealed to aides such as Pat Buchanan.     I have recently seen a grouping of stars that I haven't noticed in over a decade. I am not sure whether they are the Pleides. What I do know is that it is time for nrw glasses. I cannot even be sure how many stars are in the grouping.

    I have a browser with #JavaScript disabled that I use for most sites. I generally use CTRL+U if the site is #JavaScrippled, because a lot of sites just hide the content and use JS to reveal it. As an added benefit, many paywalls and cookie consent banners depend on JS.

    This isn't perfect, of course. Some sites don't work at all, and some want to throw up a CAPTCHA and "Are you a bot?" message. Even where it does work, a lot of styling may be lost.
