@cocoron It's actually pretty easy to make once you do it once or twice. The hardest ingredient to find will probably be the gochugaru (the red pepper stuff). I think I use a recipe like this one, but with soy sauce rather than fish sauce: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-easy-kimchi-at-home-189390
@bob damn, that article is god-awful. He almost seems to get it in the first paragraph then quickly nosedives into "I don't know how to use the internet without corporate overlords helping me" territory.
@micahflee @mcscx @lambadalambda @quincy You should bear in mind that evaluating Mastodon's success doesn't tell the whole story about the success of the network (GNUSocial) it operates on. The fediverse has existed quite a bit longer than Mastodon.
@mikegerwitz My long term vision for the software is kind of political though, I'd eventually like to work on solutions for distributed search for the Bittorrent network (on top of the existing DHT) but that'll be a while coming. Primarily since the best way to combat our current "Intellectual Property" regime is by providing tools to resist, and ultimately destroy it. But I also understand that copyleft is contingent on copyright protections, and the FSF is well aware of this too. I see copyleft licenses as an ideal (better than MIT, BSD, et al) solution for an imperfect world, but would rather eliminate copyright protections altogether.
I totally forgot about Savannah though and will have to keep it in mind. I'd definitely love to use a community provided/supported service rather than one controlled by a business. Thank you for your guidance!
@clacke @taknamay @normandy This was part of my reasoning. Also the website has cute robots, I'm shallow enough that a good website can make me more likely to use a product.
@taknamay That's cool, I will have to have a look. Do you find the R7RS provides a lot or it doesn't matter? I've been trying to come to grips with the different standards.
@mcscx @hannes2peer I'm actually in a state where my vote really didn't matter (NYS went for Hillary by a large margin) so I wrote in Emma Goldman as my vote. Good to see her pop up here.
hey !fediverse Does anyone have experience with the NanoPi? It looks promising and a bit more free than Raspberry Pi (includes Mathematica with the OS, wtf?!) I'd like to be able to install #debian from debian.org rather than whatever version they package.
@lambadalambda @lnxw48 @tuttle I'll have to have a look. I've heard of it before but tend towards luddism and not really look into new technologies for a little while after I hear of them. Mostly because I usually expect them to die in the crib.
