I also have to come up with some mod_rewrite rules for /blog/feed/ and such to still work (cool URIs don't change after all), but that shouldn't be too hard
@pettter @nepfag @roka @mangeurdenuage @dtluna @clacke Linus is more Finnish than asshole though. He only seems to be an ass towards people who should know better, and greedy bastards like Nvidia
RE: the original point, I've seen multiple projects suffer because of a failure to act like decent people. Most famously FFmpeg and x264. When it's not interpersonal shit it tends to be sexism. Taking the troublesome element aside and talking to them tends to resolve many cases ("calling in" rather than calling out)
Coincidence: I held a presentation about the theremin at !umehack. See https://music.umeahackerspace.se/?p=133 Swedish only, but perhaps parsable enough. Especially for those with radio knowlegde
@clackemovedtoheldscalla @zerohedge Fair point. I still suspect there will be an effect of shifting rents such that the cheapest housings suddenly become more expensive. I might sound a bit too negative though; I do like the idea of BI, just that people aren't being sufficiently pessimistic for my taste :]
@clacke @zerohedge BI isn't quite as useful unless you couple it with some kind of rent control system as well. Something which is not going to work in Finland I suspect, since most housing is rented from private individuals Overall I'm surprised this experiment is happening in Finland of all places, since it's relatively centrist/right wing compared to say Sweden and Norway
One of the interesting ideas raised is the hypothetical situation where the Republican party could be convinced to actually represent the interests of the working class. It's unlikely, but fun to imagine. It also wouldn't be the first time such a shift happened in US politics (compare: the changes brought about by the Southern Strategy)
This is also causing me to notice how comparatively little I know about Swedish political history. I did a brief dive into De Geer a couple of years ago, not much more
@tomas for my international followers: a return hose for the hydraulic regulator in my Citroën XM fashioned from two pieces of fuel hose, one 10mm the other 13mm. The original (ruptured) return hose was plugged with a bolt, glue and hose clamps
