     @clacke @laemeur The plugin is essentially an interface to the remote GNU social API, similar to how TweetDeck works for Twitter.

     @clacke @laemeur That's because it uses that site for oauth token exchange, IIRC.  I'm not intimately familiar with the design, that's the other person tagged.
