Does anyone here have a fairphone? I would like to have some reviews.
- @mcscx@quitter.se repeated this.

The first Fairphone seemed pretty neat, but lousy support for alternative OS. It was of course a bit slower when compared to similarly priced units, but that's because you're not abusing third world countries quite as heavily as with other phones.
But as an Android phone, it met all functional desires (battery life, dropability, software compatibility). Except perhaps NFC, depending on if you're using that or not.
@sazius and @catninja are two !gnusocial users who have owner experience. @gus also knows another person (who should get an account!).

@cmhobbs @kaligule Yes, I have a Fairphone 1. I'm quite happy with it, but I'm not a "high-end user". I find the dual-SIM quite useful. The biggest issue is that due to some problems with their chipset provider MediaTek they have been stuck on Android 4.2 for a while. But they have been working on it, and there was recently some news that they have acquired the source from MediaTek. They are still committed to support it (due to their more ethical/ecological focus) and have been providing security updates.
I expect to be using it for many years still :-)
