So, https://gitlab.com fucked themselves over big-time, so I'm considering moving #Yaics to some other place shortly.
Wondering what site you all are using for your open source projects?
(I could self host, but I would like it to continue to be in a more public place).

@ekaitzzarraga Yeah, I bet the only one that I feel is 'serious' about what they do is https://savannah.nongnu.org/

@boris Someone deleted the wrong production folder with databases (not repo's but other DB's) https://about.gitlab.com/2017/02/01/gitlab-dot-com-database-incident/

@boris Yeah, if the just shut up about it then it would be really bad for them.
I applaud them for being open about it, and many many people will use them as normal when they recover - simply because they now feel they can trust them. I applaud them for that.
It's just a bit worrying that such a huge 'system' is so vulnerable. But I'm sure they learned from it, and that they enable more safeguards so that it does not happen as easy again.

@maiyannah @archaeme I have gogs installed on my VPS, but that's just for my own 'internal' projects, I do not want to open it up for public.
I'll wait a bit for gitlab to get their stuff back up, it does not affect my project anyways.
Then I'll make a decision when they elaborate on what they'll do after this.
