I wonder if anyone will come to the #berlin fediverse meetup this week, the last one had way more people then I expected so I'm curious if we will have the opposite effect this week?
@clacke@mike@kajkandler was OpenMicroBlogging really the start? That came out of the OpenSocial project that was sorta associated with MySpace and Orkut/Google if I remember right?
@clacke sorry, it wasnt meant as an answer I just wanted to say it. this thread led me down a long rabbit hole of reading about the Moses and Aaron on wikipedia
"I have finished preparing my design documents for this feature. See here for the reasoning behind adding ActivityPub to Gitlab and an overview of the implementation path, and here more specifically for this current issue, with more detailed specifications.
I now feel confident enough to get starting implementing this into Gitlab. I'm going to add the activities iteratively, there is quite some distance to cover up." -Kik
@lain@clacke I wasnt even arguing that I dont want police to use matrix. I am actually in favor of them using floss software. I am not in favor of linking a financial incentive between the police and the people making decisions about the software I am putting my trust in. I understand "government national security budgets" get involved in lots of free software stuff and much of that is dirty money thats been laundered through a vagueposting machine and its quite harder to steer clear of it.
I dropped a cigarette butt in my only mask overnight and just had to get on the ubahn with it. I smoke cigarettes but oof this is an unpleasant sensation of being trapped in stale air
Google maps has done me wrong twice now this week. I had checked a future scenario how late the train was running and it looked like it was indeed running late still so I decided to stay at Laidak but now I have a half hour extra walk and a bus ride cause there are no trains
