@jeromescuggs It does the job of forcing the race for the presidency to be 51 separate contests to compete in each state individually plus DC. It forces a candidate to have to appeal to a broad segment of the overall populace to get to a minimum 270. In a single popular vote the population centers of NYC, SF, LA, and Boston could dominate the vote to the exclusion of any effective participation by the rest of the nation.

For all its warts, it is the way the entire country decides together.

I took every corrective action the dentist told me to take and I still wound up having an extraction this morning. We're in similar boats. There are a variety of things working against me that made the corrective actions semi-useless possibly though.

@craigmaloney That post's author is the sort of person we asked to leave DBSA & NAMI group meetings back when I still had one less than an hour's drive away to be able to attend. That's very, very unhealthy advice there. Sometimes being in the office job itself is the even worse idea rather than trying to keep the stiff upper lip. Constantly keeping the stiff upper lip can make you crazier.
