@underlap same here. The first conversation I always have is around my commitment to work:life balance.
Hasn’t been a problem so far, but that’s down to culture. I think I’m lucky that were I work has a great culture.

@oilyfish yeah that’s not productive or useful, and would definitely fall under the “don’t be a dick” thing. 😊
I’d just like to clarify my last statement…
It’s fair game as long as you’re adding to the conversation and not being a dick. 👍
I’ve seen the following analogy around the fed a number of times:
“If someone posts something, don’t just reply. A post is like someone having a conversation in a pub. If you the rock up and interject with your opinion, it’s rude. Don’t do that.”
That analogy holds no water to me. The post is public so therefore it’s more akin to a town cryer than a conversation in a public setting. Isn’t it?
If you want a conversation with specific people, use DM. If it’s public, it’s fair game IMO.
Just installed the official #Mastodon App, now that they have added the local timeline to it (albeit hidden search > community).
It’s actually really nice; think I’ll stick with it a while, especially since none of the other iOS apps appear to be maintained.
I fucking love this place.
That’s it. That’s the toot.
@jomo @lubiana nah, it's legit:

This is what's wrong with the tech industry. The expectation that one should give their free time *EVERY DAY* or you're somehow "not passionate".
My response to that would be fuck you and your shitty fucking culture.
My kids and family are FAR more important to me than your ridiculous expectations.
</rant> 🙃
@dajbelshaw @flamingkeys this.
I enjoy it after reading a book to image search the characters, I always find fan art fascinating to compare someone else’s interpretation of what a character looks like compared to my own.
