Interesting, although I'm not all that concerned about supporting proprietary messaging services. Interop between XMPP and gnusocial would be good though.
There is also Matrix, which was mentioned earlier elsewhere. https://matrix.org -

Matthew Davidson (mjd@microblog.ourcoffs.org.au)'s status on Saturday, 01-Oct-2016 05:45:43 UTC Matthew Davidson I still purge punctuation from my filenames on the premise that you never know when you may have to use a #Windows computer. Eagerly anticipating the day when I know I will never have to use a Windows computer. -
karl (karl@soykaf.com)'s status on Monday, 15-Aug-2016 22:34:53 UTC karl @thecharmingalbino Ah, good old-fashioned electric-universe quackery. I was wondering when I'd see one of you pseudoscience cranks showing up.
Thankfully, your brand of insanity is relatively harmless. You're not actively harming society like the anti-vaccination assholes. Shine on, you crazy diamonds. -
TheCharmingAlbino (thecharmingalbino@sealion.club)'s status on Monday, 15-Aug-2016 21:36:22 UTC TheCharmingAlbino @voatposts Wrong. Plasma makes up 98% of the matter in the universe and the electric force underpins all the others. Dark energy, dark matter and black holes are all bad math and ad-hoc explanations for the failure of the standard model of the universe. Stars are not thermonuclear furnaces, planets are not formed from accretion disks and comets are not dirty snowballs. These folks propose models and theories which have been predictive, non-surprising and which are producing explanations for the million degree temperature of the Sun's corona, what gravity actually is and why comets behave the way they do. http://www.thunderbolts.info -

Bob Mottram (bob@primatemind.info)'s status on Friday, 30-Sep-2016 15:11:19 UTC Bob Mottram @vsatayamas Back in the late 19th century Kropotkin did some back of the envelope type calculations for how much "socially necessary labour time" was actually needed, and his estimate was about three hours per day per capable adult (see "The conquest of bread"). Maybe four if you want luxury goods. And that was with the technology of the time, which was mostly horses and carts. Today the amount of socially necessary labour time is probably far less.
