@colegota Thank you for testing. I can think of another way to move forward before I create the permanent fix: Restore AndStatus data from a backup, created on a device, where everything works as expected. This device could be even Android emulator.
@colegota Ok, as I wrote here https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/511 I think that I need to investigate this case closely using verbose logs of the app. Please backup the app with logs as described... and send me zipped backup folder. Currently I am on vacations, will start investigation next Monday. The bug is weird and needs to be fixed. I couldn't reproduce it, so I didn't fix it before. Please stay turned and help me...
@colegota Hi, I encountered this problem during the first run of the app from time to time (during testing...) , but so far it was really enough to reboot a device /or reinstall #AndStatus... Maybe clearing app data instead of reinstalling will work for you? Please read what helped one of users: https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/505
What's new: 1. Added "summary" (Content warning) Note property and "Sensitive" flag (checkbox in the Editor). If the Note (Toot) is Sensitive, starting a Reply to that toot the app makes the Reply Sensitive also, and copies Summary (CW) from the parent toot also. Sensitive content may be made visible or invisible in the Navigation drawer (or in Settings -> Timeline). https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/507 2. More Mastodon attachments are shown now ("remote" media files are shown in a case the type of the local ones is "unknown")
@baloouriza #AndStatus will have separate "Sensitive" checkbox and "Summary/CW" text fields. Do you mean that "Sensitive" checkbox should be defaulted to what is in the parent? Or you think that the CW text should be copied also?
@baloouriza What do you think #AndStatus forgot to do? I don't see the beginning of this conversation, so I'm curious :-) BTW I'm implementing "sensitive" note/toot property now in AndStatus. @madestmadness
What's new: 1. Added "Home Timeline" notification type that allows to be notified on any note received via the Home Timeline (Inbox). It's turned on by default. Can be turned off in Settings -> Notifications https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/508 2. Improved identification of the same Actors (users) in posts that cross instances and types of Social networks (ActivityPub / Mastodon / GNU Social). 3. Fixed posting via ActivityPub Client to Server protocol. https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/499
@baloouriza #AndStatus has an option to show latest notes first in the Conversation view. Regarding timelines: how do you "Pull to refresh" at the bottom of the list? I didn't see any such Android app yet... @gdorn
AndStatus v.47.12 automatic pre-Launch testing at Google Play.
Upon upload of a new app package to Google Play, the automatic "Pre-Launch" testing is being launched in parallel on several physical Android devices. AndStatus app identifies that it has been launched by the test engine, and it generates test/demo data to make this automatic testing useful and more interesting. As you can see in this video, AndStatus uses device default language on the first run (in this case - Chinese language). https://youtu.be/KZ_QmI649Q8
@dwaltiz I fixed probable cause of the "lost draft" problem, that you encountered, in #AndStatus v.47.11 (released yesterday). A draft could be lost (unsent and invisible in a timeline) in a case there was another draft saved earlier by the same account. Now different drafts don't interfere with each other.
@andstatus Yes, it actually is. Plus: I've seen discussions that (a) andstatus has at least preliminary support for ActivityPub, (b) fedilab *does* support friendica in some way because (c) current friendica builds come with ActivityPub support of some sort. I was trying to get these pieces together... 😉
@tom79 I think user's confusion is caused by widely advertised "#ActivityPub support", which in reality for almost all servers (except for #Pleroma, as I know) means server to server communication only. Pleroma is the first Social Network that implemented at least minimal set of features, allowing ActivityPub Client applications to connect to it. @z428 @thefaico
