media companies and politicians manipulate people to get what they want. they use social media and media outlets to promote $whatever. a lot of times that works the other way around; corporations using their economic power to influence government. right so why don't *we* use social media to fight back?

i mean, nazis/trolls(/russia?) did trump allegedly. so why can't we the people use the meme to manipulate the political sphere in our favor.

@clacke @mono it appears to me that science has a pr problem. i've had a surprising number of conversations lately with people who thing science is nonsense. not, junk science, but the whole scientific method. i mean, a lot of this could be attributed to shitty education standards, but still. "truth seekers" rejecting science? how did science lose the image of pursuing truth and understanding?
