NPM's union-busting CEO fired after just 8 months on the job https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/09/20/npm_ceo_bryan_bogensbergers_off/
@lain I mean, based on the name, we can assume that once the water is gone, all that's left is pure melon!
I also really want to try making watermelon chips http://www.dehydratorreview.net/recipes/watermelon-chips
@gnomon I made it for the purpose of the dehydrated meals I'm making. So, it would go into the places you would normally add miso. ;P
So I made miso powder, and it rehydrates fairly well. You can also put it in a container with a shaker and shake it on food, where it hits it like a salty umami bomb. Technique here: https://billievethat.wordpress.com/2009/11/23/miso-dust/
The main mistake I made: I didn't spread it quite thin enough. Because of that I had to dry it for a really long time. Towards the end I got impatient and upped the temperature; it ended up giving it a "toasty" flavor which is also interesting but would be nice to try again without that.
Btw if the first @apconf talk you watch is this one (my keynote), you should know that the audio is better on all the other ones but mine. We made an error in the audio setup and so we had to use the audio from the camera instead of from the microphone I was holding. Considering that, it sounds ok-ish! But definitely very echo'y... sorry.
We fixed the issue after this talk, so the other ones generally sound better.

This could have profound privacy implications, especially for people who are poor or otherwise vulnerable. I'm proud to be part of this work.

listening to Kathleen Lu do a great job of breaking down the basics in order to discuss license compatibility!
@LienRag I think I know a bunch of centrist techies who are super into Andrew Yang.
I'm sorry, the number of child surveillance tools that exist aren't enough right now?
Not to mention, maybe work with your children directly to teach them sexual and online safety, and maybe also don't shame them about having a sexuality. Shaming and punishing your teenagers for having a sex drive is the "war on drugs" approach to sex and we know how well that works.

Some tech people: "Yeah! Andrew Yang is our candidate! The person that understands and speaks to technology needs!"
Andrew Yang: "As a parent of young kids I believe rampant access to pornography is a real problem. We need to empower families to be able to moderate what our kids see and when." https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1175194233034162176

@librelounge @cwebber @emacsen Thanks for the episode! It's so nice you have mentioned bb. It has made a strong impression on me when I was only starting with [Gnu/*/]Linux, running Knoppix on a CDr. It's absolutely 0% utility, but in the same time somehow so inspiring in a weird way.
