It's hard to grasp the full context of his words because this is only an excerpt, but I think his vision is for the world for people to empower themselves. We're seeing something a bit similar in China with the awakening of young people to what's outside their world. They're slowly trickling in ideas from the outside after getting their minds blown

There's something incredibly satisfying about vintage switches. Especially the plastic paddle-style ones like on the IMSAI 8080 from 1975

Yes, it's the one Matthew Broderick used in WarGames (H/T to @anton for reminding me of it)

This one is at the Computer History Museum and I just want to run up to it and flip those switches!

@ajr @ajroach42 This is the Saber keyboard (http://www.kbdist.com/). I think it has all the keys you need to run DOS most programs without too much trouble if Fn was added and the number row can serve as F keys. I'm generally not a fan of ISO layout keyboards, but I rather like the one on the Freewrite

Of course, I can't justify spending that much money on a glorified typewriter. I could build something similar with an e-ink display and maybe an ESP 32
