Compaq Portable III from 1987 looks a bit like a toaster with a screen (the future!)
It came with an Intel 80286 12 MHz CPU or 80386 at 20 MHz and up to 8192 kB RAM (depending on how much you wanted to splurge). At release, it cost $4,999
