I think USB-C only partially solves the problem... dodgy Chinese chargers designed for MacBooks will probably happily send 20v to your phone and brick it.

5% excise on all purchases of Internet scrip or currency, like Bitcoin or WoW gold.
Lucrative source of revenue and great way to get people to focus on the real world and not abstract ideas.

In a rectangular building covered in glass,
A millitary man asks you a question,
"How many countries are we at war with right now?"You start to count on your fingers,
You start to name the countriesBut he laughs and says,
Your going to need more hands -

They prefer to think of it as an abstract entity with modular components. That is only true to a limited extent. Internet backbones will never be replaced by mesh networks, and anyone with a knowledge in networking knows that.

Eliza The Gender Destroyer (elizafox@mst3k.interlinked.me)'s status on Friday, 15-Dec-2017 03:57:07 UTC Eliza The Gender Destroyer Mesh networks don't excite me a lot. They have limited applicability in the countryside, and radio spectrum is a finite resource (renewable, sure, but nonetheless finite). Anyone who's had wireless Internet in their own home and had poor reception or such will tell you it's not a full replacement.
The real solution is more communal infrastructure such as fibre optics.

Eliza The Gender Destroyer (elizafox@mst3k.interlinked.me)'s status on Monday, 04-Dec-2017 06:19:11 UTC Eliza The Gender Destroyer I don't like the whole "CW everything" movement because they're turning CW's into meaningless things that people will just ignore, like the boy who cried wolf. It also is a reaction to fake outrage trolls, which I don't like either (if you aren't familiar with them... oh boy... you don't wanna know).
Believing you can please everyone is nonsense.

You get new intrigue and plot points. But I feel like it's been done to death in Star Trek. We literally know basically /everything/ from the first warp flight to TOS and a bit in-between TOS and TNG. Just do the freaking future already.

It also suffered from early installment weirdness, as most shows do.
s2 was affected by the strike. Really bad. It was also when Crusher was introduced, that didn't help.
s3 saw the introduction of new writers. Roddenberry was basically gone.
Also, they kept going overbudget. They had bottle episodes to keep it cheap late-season (which often blew the budget anyway).
