@dsh if you enjoy hard rock / metal played in a totally different mood, try looking up Hellsongs on YouTube.
One of my favourites of theirs is Symphony of Destruction, originally by Megadeth

relatedly, I'm sick and tired of always being in "rebuilding community and social circle" mode.
I've known so many people, had so many friends through the few years I've been around. But not that many of those friends actually knew each other, and even fewer of them stuck around.
I just want some kind of friend-group that I can hang out with and do fun stuff with.
I just want to belong. Is that too much to ask for?
I find it kinda funny how computers are supposed to do exactly what you tell them to, but because SPEEEED, someone told the computers to guess ahead of time what might happen, instead of just doing what the instructions actually says.
And now everyone is hurting, because we told computers to do stuff we didn't ask them to.
80% of what I want from a "social network" I had 10 years ago. Mastodon barely gives me 40%, but at least it's better than Twitter and Facebooks 10%.
I am so fucking tired of open alternatives "copying" the designs optimised for capitalism, and just saying "this is what we want, just freeeee".
This whole model of everything centered around a constantly updating stream of "content" with no regard of topic or context is designed for and by capitalists to maximize surveillance potential.
"Property is theft" is a ridiculous slogan.
The weak point is that it doesn't distinguish between private property and personal property.
I'd define the border between private and personal property as one of "is this object or area being used in my personal life" - If yes, then it's probably personal property. If not, then we can call it private property.
The latter is what an anarchist society must abolish.
The ability to own things that other people use to do stuff is harmful.
I found a post by a user on mastodon.social, but since no one I follow have interacted with that post, I can't see it or reply to it from my instance.
That's a bummer :(
And also related to the "I want to fetch peoples latest day of posts when I follow them" issue.
@clacke @gamehawk you seem to have missed the part where the gravity field is not continous and doesn't follow regular natural laws.
@gamehawk wouldn't any orbit parallel to the midpoint plane be just the same, since the gravity is uniform as long as you don't cross edges?
assuming you stay "above" the planetoid and not beside it.
@strypey nah, it's very unlikely to be a user error - such things never happens! ;P
They really should just have a giant red button labeled GITHUB at the top, to appease my arbitrary requirements.
And for the lazy, here's a picture of the GrowRoom: https://manowar.social/media/lKSOihO9Re8d8SLn7XM
I have a growing urge to build stuff in the physical realm. Today's urge is inspired by the #GrowRoom created by Danish organisation #SPACE10.
It's basically a wooden sphere for #UrbanGardening, that's also a tiny room for people.
And they've released the design under creative commons:
