    Mastodon does add all to a reply, but it is easy to remove people from the text. Leaving someone in after they have requested removal is an asshole move that Masto's prevailing culture would agree is harassment.

      The Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces (Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ; Russian: Главный храм Вооружённых сил России (Храм Воскресения Христова)) is a lavish Russian Patriarchal cathedral in honour of the Resurrection of Christ and "dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the military feats of the Russian people in all wars", built in the Patriot Park in the Odintsovsky District, Moscow Oblast. The cathedral was built with donations and budget funds from the Moscow city government and the Moscow Oblast. It was consecrated as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Soviet victory on the Eastern Front of World War II (known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia). An exhibition dedicated to the history of the Russian state and its armed forces will be located on-site.The construction of the cathedral was completed on 9 May 2020, on the annual Victory Day.     @gnu2 @fu Well, all large organizations are, but government IT is particularly vulnerable to pressure from #pollies ... company A gets paid to maintain its legacy software that $AGENCY has used for 30 years; company B comes out with a modern replacement that eliminates the need to pay company A; company A's lobbyists tell the congressionals for that area that jobs will be lost. Now those congresscritters go into attack mode.

    I don't know who Candace Owens is, but I feel sorry for her. She apparently has to clown and dance for her White audience, so she shuffles her feet and makes comments that celebrate ignorance. Juneteenth is as made up as Independence Day (July 4) itself.

    I know plenty of people did not know about #Juneteenth until it was finally (after more than 100 years!) became a national holiday, but if you were Black in certain locations, it is one of the longest standing celebrations.

    So Ms. Owens, if you do not want to celebrate, don't celebrate. But don't let yourself be the useful clown to those who like you only because you parrot their own racial insecurities back to them. They will eventually discard you, the same way they discard every Darkie. Because in the final analysis, you're not their kind of people.

    @simsa04 I do not know of any such service for #GNUsocial. There are a few very old web-based quick installers from the #StatusNet days, but even then they weren't much better than getting a VPS and installing by hand, because as soon as you wanted to change something, you needed to use ssh, the command line, and edit config files.

    If you still have contact with Lohan G, the artist from Sri Lanka, he hosted an instance somewhere, maybe he has ideas and warnings that would help. Last I knew, @lohang .

    #Meta / #Facebook is building a #Twitter clone under their #Instagram brand. Apparently, there's discussion of various #ActivityPub #Fediverse projects' lead developers signing an NDA and having discussions with them.

    The participants appear to be deleting evidence.

    I'm not spinning a conspiracy theory. I just don't think Gargron or Dansup have any idea what kinds of restrictions an NDA can contain. They risk long-term damage to their projects and some impact on their careers.
