    I got up, walked to the bus stop, took a buss to the next city over. Instead of waiting for the next bus, I walked to a county office.

    The positive thing is that they did have fee waiver paperwork that may save me about $500 when I find a way to get there.

    @fu Yes. I got curious enoigh to do a web search.

    When searching, the results page says "Did you mean 'baseball'?" and gives results for that term. You have to click "Show results for 'Baxball' instead." or you won't find what you're looking for.

    I'm a #baseball fan, but I'd like to learn more about #cricket. Do you have some suggested resources?

      Bazball is an informal term first coined by sport journalists and bloggers during the 2022 English cricket season referring to the style of play of the England cricket team in Test matches. It was developed after the appointments of Brendon McCullum (whose nickname is Baz) as Test head coach and Ben Stokes as Test captain by English cricket managing director Rob Key in May 2022.       Been dealing w/ a heart condition called atrial fibrillation for many years, and for a long time medicine kept it under control. Until recently. Was told that the new Apple watches will let you know when/if you're in afib. I already had an older one but all the literature said the newer was better at afib detection and monitoring. I've found that while there were a few times over the past few months where the watch has alerted me to my heart being in afib, it's more the exception than the rule. Because apparently I've been in afib long enough w/out noticing that the heart thinks this is normal. Got a real heart monitor and found out it's pretty much in afib all the time. Obviously, this is less than ideal, and we're looking at various treatment options. The point of this post, however, is just to say that if you're counting on your Apple watch to let you know if your afib is under control, you probably shouldn't.

    #Chunkhost, which is where the #VPS for the USS server (used by N5) and VPS for the !OSP server are hosted, announced an imminent shutdown. Apparently, they've been losing money for a while, even after laying off almost all their staff.

    I just paid for another year in July, but will probably not receive a refund.

    The timing is bad, because there's no budget for hosting (or anything else) right now.

    Next course is an EEO course. If they just talked about it in general terms and said whom to contact in case of any issues, it would be good. But they say "the Blah Blah act of 1867 requires these specific things" and then test you on whether you remember the specific law that requires something.

    That's idiotic. I need to know the requirements and how to comply ... put all that extra stuff in an optional "for further information" page.

    3rd course. There's supposed to be 8 hours of coursework. I don't know if I'm going to make it. $EMPLOYER's mandatory courses are so dry and uninteresting ... and often devoid of any real value except as "you took the course, so you knew better, now we can punish you".

    I haven't thought VR (virtual reality) or AR (augmented reality) was the wave of the future, because of the cost of the required equipment and the way the various goggles and glasses look to others.

    It's one thing if you're in your home playing a 3D game. It becomes quite different if you're going out into the world wearing ugly and obviously expensive glasses / goggles.

    It is now quiet. No wind, no rain. I think the storm has passed us. We may get a rain band or two later, but I think we're unscathed.
