I have been around the “fediverse” since I first heard @leo talking about StatusNet. That was over 14 years ago. My horizons remain broadened.

Once upon a time I was: a podcaster, a librarian, a janitor, a retail electronics salesman, a tax collector, a newspaper reporter, a domestic missionary, a paperboy, a local candidate for public office, and more.

@steve My basic computer skills class at the community college has some traits in common with wood shop, I guess. My students are expected to show their work and demonstrate their ability to use the tools. ChatGPT can’t stand in their shoes for them and actually do the work step by step in front of the class.

@clacke If ActivityPub compatibility were ever retrofitted onto the pump dot io code base I would easily retreat to Identica. My account there survives.
