@normandc dendrite is definitely noticeably lighter on resources, but is currently struggling with joining large rooms despite not running out of resources. Idk anymore. Xmpp just works.

Yesterday I set up a synapse server, today I set up a Dendrite server, tomorrow I'm going to set up a Prosody server. This is a lot of fun. I have no life.

@moddedBear while a short while ago I'd be inclined to agree fully, I'm holding my breath until I see a matrix server implementation that can join #matrix:matrix.org in less than a minute. Until then, its just too slow.
