    @moddedBear while a short while ago I'd be inclined to agree fully, I'm holding my breath until I see a matrix server implementation that can join #matrix:matrix.org in less than a minute. Until then, its just too slow.

      @pavot Tough choice. XMPP is the simpler and easier to host of the two, but Matrix is better suited to large groups and has more of a future IMO.
