Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Mar-2019 19:34:07 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield Always thought this would be a great metal song. Honestly, given the tempo, think it would be great as atmospheric !blackmetal
Then again, I think pretty much everything should be atmospheric black metal...

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Thursday, 24-Jan-2019 19:18:44 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield I know there a few people here with #Madison connections. I'm not sure if any of them are into ambient !blackmetal. If so, these guys are coming Feb 2: https://decarabia.bandcamp.com/album/decarabia-tahazu-split
Perhaps Decarabia is one person in school at #UW? Otherwise, one show in Madison doesn't make a lot of sense for a New Hampshire band.In conversation from nu.federati.net permalink Attachments

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Thursday, 08-Nov-2018 16:30:33 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield More complaining: one of our team members is on sabbatical this month, so more work for us.
One the plus side, if I somehow manage to make it to 10 years (more likely to be struck by lightning), then sabbatical!
Also, I am taking off next Tuesday and then 20th. And then the US is out Thanksgiving and !blackmetal Friday. Maybe I can keep kicking the can for a couple of weeks and then these cases will magically disappear to other places...In conversation from nu.federati.net permalink -

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Monday, 02-Jul-2018 19:33:35 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield my !blackmetal cover album is going to be so epic. It's almost like it's written to be black metal. Although, I may change some lyrics slightly. The tagline for the original is "The feeling of detachment may be heavy, but we can power through it all". I may change that to "The feeling of detachment may be heavy, but then we die" although it gets kinda death metally. "The feeling of detachment may be heavy, but we are all human scum" feels more appropriate for black metal, but I don't know that it goes with the album that well. Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Wednesday, 23-May-2018 23:56:20 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield I just sent emails to Judd Madden and Vitne about collaborating on an atmospheric folk-inspired blackened doom album. It'll probably never happen, but still, the cats should really tell me to stop...

It's not !blackmetal and the punk influence is pretty obvious, but I think it'd fit rather well on the show.In conversation from nu.federati.net permalink Attachments

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman@nu.federati.net)'s status on Saturday, 10-Mar-2018 14:36:19 UTC Douglas A. Whitfield I also should mention that if musicians from your region or genre want to promote their !music, they can book directly with Music Manumit at https://nu.federati.net/url/115769
!burma !finland !blackmetal !uppsala !piano !minimalism !espana !retrowave !jpop !glitch !jazz !bible !deathmetal !id !colombia !peru !finlandia !Ireland !latinosgnusocial
Also, specifically to jazz, there is a CCMA category for that. Glitch would fit very well in the remix category. We also have a !metal category. J-Pop can go with pop and piano and minimalism could really fit a lot of places but minimalism is likely going to fall in our ambient category. In conversation from nu.federati.net permalink Attachments
