Does anyone have information on how to monitor USB ports? The fancy new four wheel debt in my garage…
- @mcscx@quitter.se repeated this.
-
@cmhobbs I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but Wireshark can capture raw USB traffic: https://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/USB
-
@chimo sounds like #Wireshark can capture usb traffic coming from NICs that are connected via USB — not necessarily usb traffic in general
-
@cmhobbs you could set up a Virtualbox Windows pc (perhaps that's what the car expects), connect that to car& monitor usb traffic from host
-
@onetimepad ah ok, so #Wireshark can really monitor raw usb traffic. Certainly interesting what happens on the usb line. @chimo

@cyberkiller [off topic] that reminds me I have a ~1998 bootable #QNX #floppy disk with web browser, web server, shell, GUI desktop, etc.
-
@dragnucs $SearchEngine gives a number of hits, so you can probably still download QNX demo. Here's a 2012 video http://is.gd/vNrmCD
-
@cyberkiller I haven't tried the QNX floppy in the last 14 yrs ;) It once seemed to me Amiga 2DD floppies are more durable than PC floppies
-
@dragnucs if you like old bootable floppies you might have a look at the #tomsrtbt GNU/linux disk. Awesome,back in the days. TCPIP, busybox…
-
@cmhobbs ack, and may be a waste of time anyway. You could just as well install yourself an e.g. !bananaPi in your car.
-
@deavmi QNX (/ˌkjuː ˌɛn ˈɛks/ or /ˈkjuːnɨks/) is a #commercial Unix-like real-time OS, aimed primarily at the embedded systems market. #wiki
-
@deavmi "A key characteristic of an RTOS is the level of its _consistency concerning the amount of time_ it takes to accept&complete a task"
-
@deavmi = RT OS :-)
-
@deavmi not only startup times,execution times. If you control a robot, aeroplane,… you want your program to have consistent execution time
-
@mcscx I don't really like old bootable floppies, but I want to make a GUI system that when installed fits in a 40 Mb hdd.
-
Microsoft no longer include a simple calculator with !Windows 10. Ridiculous.
-
@dragnucs exactly the same here. Actually I have never used Microsoft stuff for myself, exept for playing DukeNukem 3d
-
@pbielefeldt they would,but in the 2.5GB Win10 iso was unfortunately no place for a real #calculator or even a #cli with persistent history
-
@dragnucs you might try #PuppyLinux and #DamnSmallLinux, but probably (at least) the recent versions are larger than 40 MB. @cyberkiller
