@lnxw48 just started watching Transformers Prime, which is more--or-less current CGI. They kill off Cliffjumper not 10 minutes into the series. No idea how much I'll ever watch, for a variety of reasons, but it's pretty good so far.

it may well be on TV (OTA or cable) but it's definitely on Netflix. They took the original series off Netflix, which is a bummer, but not as big of a bummer as the movie not being there any more. That reminds me, I need to work on getting this desktop working to see if I have the movie on one of these old hard drives.

@daw@micro.fragdev.com I actually like the series. Was a little annoyed at the killing of Cliffjumper, but in general the series had a good arc and it was dark.

I was until Michael Bay, although moving toward !freeculture media has had something to do with it. Time is also an issue

I have almost the entire 80 original comics. There are a few I could never find. Maybe once law school loans are paid, I will work on putting together some sort of free culture transforming robot animation, although all of my experience is if filming/videoing humans, not animation, but I could certainly help with a crowdfunding campaign or something. Might be hard to keep it far enough away from Hasbro/Marvel/Dreamworks (they did a comic series...or maybe more than one after the Marvel series). Speaking of Marvel, my boycott of Disney has tainted my relationship with Transformers as well. I guess it's just Marvel Studios though? I don't even know.
And, it's not like DC is without their controversies, but that's another topic entirely.

Marvel ran the original series, and maybe after that. Disney owns Marvel...or some part of Marvel.

pretty sure Marvel did the original movie comics as well as the GI Joe/Transformers crossover, which I may have all of. The G2 series also did a GI Joe crossover. I can't remember if Dreamworks did G2 or if they did a later series after I gave up keeping track.
