@erkanyilmaz yesterday I tried (again, different methods) to join the #tea group but it still fails. Can you help?

/me asking himself if it's worth doing the same investigations as from 1 year before (1) or doing an upgrade to !gs instead on the oracle instance and fixing any bugs which would, surely, happen becuase of the upgrade? (1) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/242976

@erkan I remember we looked at it, I cannot remember however what the findings were. Mostly I have no problem remote-joining a group (except it ends in a blank page, but it works); this one gives an error message, so it's different. I have no problem with upgrading to GS though, as long as it preserves all features I use (like classical interface, hierarchical view etc.) (and maybe the groups listing could be presented in reverse chronological order? like subscriptions/subscribers. It is UNordered now, which I find rather annoying.)

well, hierarchical thread doesn't work in !gs (or is at least very buggy) :-(

@erkan then don't pgrade (yet) please - it

@erkan then please don't upgrade (yet) - hierarchical view is absolutely essential for me. Let me say it again: I believe that should be the default view for *everyone*, whether logged in or not. Make "flat" view an option.

I agree fully! RT @mk ... #hierarchical view (1) is absolutely essential for me. Let me say it again: I believe that should be the #default view for *everyone*, whether logged in or not. Make "flat" view an option. cc !gs !gnusocial (1) http://www.skilledtests.com/wiki/File:Hierarchical_threads.png

@erkan I haven't seen any issues on quitter.se, but I mostly use a client now. What issues (in classic mode)?

(try to) activate it and see yourself: http://www.skilledtests.com/wiki/Statusnet_problems#better.2Ffancy_display.3F

@erkan It might be worth it to look up the original code (ie, before Evan ripped it out and then after protests hastily slapped it back in: *that* code is a mess, because the changes were too 'fundamental' to actually support it. I'll bet the original code is cleaner and could be ripped for the algorihm (if not implementation)
